Terms of Use and Legal Restrictions

ATTENTION: PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS SITE. USING THIS SITE INDICATES THAT YOU ACCEPT THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS ("TERMS"), DO NOT USE THIS SITE.

Use of Site
The Institute for Social Informatics, its designees, and any successor individual, organization or member thereof with management or operational authority with respect to a SecureID.Org site (collectively, the "SecureID.Org Publishers") authorize you to view and download the materials at this site ("Site"), provided that you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices contained in the original materials on any copies of the materials. You may not modify the materials at this Site in any way or reproduce or publicly display, perform, or distribute or otherwise use them except as expressly permitted by the SecureID.Org Publishers. For purposes of these Terms, any use of these materials on any other site or networked computer environment for any purpose is prohibited. The materials at this Site are copyrighted and any unauthorized use of any materials at this Site may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws. If you breach any of these Terms, your authorization to use this Site automatically terminates and you must immediately destroy any downloaded or printed materials.

User Identity
Each user must register one and only one name. Names must not be shared with any other person or entity. Names can only be used by natural persons, not businesses, proxies, legal representatives, or automated agents. Business users should contact the Institute for Social Informatics for business terms of use. Names may not be transferred under any circumstances. An exception to this one-name rule is role names, such as postmaster, editor, webmaster, etc. These names must only be used for their roles and must clearly be role names. That is, no confusion with personal names is permitted. Persons responding to requests to role names must respond with their registered name. That is, role names can not be used to shield identity.

You must never reveal your password or permitted it to be revealed. Remember to Logout, if you connect from a public site or from a machine which is usable by any other person. If you suspect that your password has been compromised or that your name has been used by someone else, update your password immediately, if possible, and notify your SecureID.Org Publisher and Abuse@SecureID.Org. This User Identity rule applies for any given Site. That is, a person may have a different name at a different SecureID.Org Site.

Names must be traceable to persons. SecureID.Org Publishers may verify identities explicitly, use behavioral monitoring, IP number tracking, or other means to ensure that names are not being abused. An alternative to traceability to a person is the registration of a secure pseudonym, which permits a person to be permanently blocked from using a site, without revealing their identity.

Use of Software
If you download software from this Site ("Software"), use of the Software is subject to the license terms that accompanies or is provided with the Software, or that is expressly referenced by this Site (collectively, the "License"). You may not download or install the Software until you have read and accepted the terms of the License and retain all copyright and other proprietary notices.

User Submissions
Other than personally identifiable information, which is covered under the Privacy Statement, any material, information or other messages you transmit or post to this Site will be considered non-confidential ("Messages"). The SecureID.Org Publishers must respect the copyright of Messages. Collection copyright is retained by the Institute for Social Informatics. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from this Site any libelous, child pornographic, or racist materials.

No virus, Trojan horse, worm, or other malware permitted. This includes Java or Java Script programs that can damage systems or capture private information, such as email addresses, without notice. Users must be fully informed about what happens to their system or data. Any files uploaded to this Site must be checked for viruses, etc.

Chain letters, Spams (Unsolicited commercial email [UCE]), pyramid or "Ponzi" schemes, such as multi-level marketing, or any other "mental virus" hoaxes prohibited. Fraud of any sort is not tolerated.

User Chat Rooms
The SecureID.Org Publishers may, but are not obligated to, monitor or review any areas on the Site where users transmit or post Messages or communicate solely with each other, including but not limited to chat rooms, bulletin boards or other user forums, and the content of any such Messages. The SecureID.Org Publishers, however, will have no liability related to the content of any such Messages, whether or not arising under the laws of copyright, libel, privacy, obscenity, or otherwise. The SecureID.Org Publishers retain the right to remove messages that include any material deemed libelous, child pornographic, or racist.
